What we make

The range starts at the ear. Earring sets with three or four sizes of one stud, huggie hoops in stacks, flat back studs for the helix and the tragus, clip-ons and cuffs for ears without holes. From there it goes to the nose, with L-shaped, bone and screw studs and small hoops, to belly and eyebrow rings, and then away from piercing altogether: waist chains, bracelets and anklets, stacking rings, tie clips and sweater clips.

Almost all of it comes in more than one piece. That is the idea the people at TORNITO built the brand on in 2017, and 9 years later it still decides how each set is put together.

Why sets

An ear with a lobe, a second lobe hole and a helix has three places to fill, and a single pair of studs fills one of them. A set gives you the same stud in the sizes a stack needs, so the largest goes in the first hole and the smallest near the top, and the look holds together from the lobe up.

Sets also make it cheap to try a placement before you commit to it, and to keep a spare when a back goes down the drain. The price of one pair is printed under the price of every set, so you can see what that is worth.

What we print on every set

The gauge, in G and in millimeters, the bar length on every piece that has one, the backs the set comes with, how many pairs or pieces are in the box and where each piece is shaped to be worn. Those five figures decide whether a stud fits, and they are the ones shops tend to hide behind a photograph.

Where we describe a set as hypoallergenic, nickel free or lead free, that is our own statement about that set, and we print it as such. What a public body or a professional association says about metals sits in its own block, with the name of the body and the date we read it.

What we leave to a piercer

A fresh piercing is not the place for any of our sets. The Association of Professional Piercers lists the metals it accepts in a new piercing and rules plated jewelry out of it, and the jewelry that goes in on the day is the piercer's choice. For a lobe, the American Academy of Dermatology advises keeping the starter earrings in for at least six weeks; once the piercing has healed, the choice is yours.

If a piercing turns sore, red or swollen, or starts to ooze, a dermatologist or the piercer who did it is the right person to ask. We do not give that kind of advice, and nothing on this site is meant as medical advice.
