How we update prices

The catalog was last updated on September 24, 2026. Prices, variations and stock on every page come from that update.

What we update

Prices, which variations of a set are available, and whether a set is in stock at all. A set with no live offer leaves the site at the next rebuild rather than sitting here with a price nobody can pay, and it comes back on its own when it returns to stock.

Gauges, bar lengths, pair counts and metals change far less often. Those come from the data we hold on each set, and they are re-read whenever that set is rebuilt.

How often

On a schedule, and after any change to the range. Prices on small jewelry sets move with promotions, so the figure here is the one from our last update and the figure at checkout is the one you pay. Where the two disagree, the till is right.

Where the order happens

The shopping button opens our retail partner. The order, the payment and any return happen there under their terms.

What we read

Where a page here says what a public body or a professional association advises, this is what was read and when.

• Association of Professional Piercers, Jewelry for initial piercings. For a fresh piercing the association accepts steel that meets ASTM F-138 or ISO 5832-1, implant-certified titanium to ASTM F-136, niobium, solid 14k or higher gold that is nickel and cadmium free, platinum and inert glass. It says gold plated, gold filled and vermeil jewelry is not acceptable for a fresh piercing, because the plating can wear or chip off, and that jewelry must be a gauge and length that suit your anatomy. • American Academy of Dermatology, Nickel allergy: how to avoid exposure and reduce symptoms. The academy counts nickel among the most common causes of allergic contact dermatitis and lists earrings and earring backs among the usual sources. It advises jewelry that is nickel free, hypoallergenic, or made of surgical-grade stainless steel, 18 to 24 karat gold, sterling silver or platinum, and seeing a board-certified dermatologist for a diagnosis. • American Academy of Dermatology, Caring for new piercings. The academy advises leaving the starter earrings in for at least six weeks, night included, washing hands before touching a new piercing, cleaning it once a day with a mild fragrance-free cleanser and water, and avoiding hydrogen peroxide and antibacterial soaps. Soreness, redness, swelling or a yellowish discharge can mean an infection; a raised scar can mean a keloid, and both are reasons to see a dermatologist. Read September 24, 2026.
