A stud in the cup

A conch piercing sits in the flat middle of the ear, behind the ear canal, so the stud is seen straight on and the back rests against the back of the ear. That is flat back country: every conch set here ends in a disc or a small screw back.

Because the conch is seen face on, it can take a slightly larger top than the tragus: a 4mm or 5mm stone reads well there. The stud sets are 20G.

A 4mm or 5mm top shows well in the conch, which is seen face on. The multicolor CZ sets come in 3mm, 4mm and 5mm.

Can a TORNITO conch stud be a hoop instead?

An outer conch hoop needs a large diameter and a healed piercing; the clicker hoops on the cartilage shelf name their sizes. Most people wear a flat back stud in the inner conch.
