For most noses, yes. If an L shape slips out of yours, a screw shape curls behind the nostril and holds best; several of our packs include both.

What gauge are TORNITO nose studs?

The L-shaped packs are all 20G, 0.8mm. A few other nose studs in the catalog are 18G or 16G, printed on their pages.

The easy shape, by the dozen

Every pack on this page is 20G, 0.8mm, the gauge most nostril piercings settle at. Many of them mix the L shape with bone and screw studs in the same box, so you can find out which one your nose keeps without buying three packs; the variation picker names the shape of each option.

The tops are cubic zirconia and opal, from a 1.5mm glint up to flowers and butterflies, and the steel comes in silver, gold, rose gold and black tones. Two packs are G23 titanium, and the card in the box names that grade.

All 15 of them, $7.99 to $17.99, are part of the TORNITO catalog: the same steel grades and backs, different places to wear them.

What the guidance says

Association of Professional Piercers, Jewelry for initial piercings. For a fresh piercing the association accepts steel that meets ASTM F-138 or ISO 5832-1, implant-certified titanium to ASTM F-136, niobium, solid 14k or higher gold that is nickel and cadmium free, platinum and inert glass. It says gold plated, gold filled and vermeil jewelry is not acceptable for a fresh piercing, because the plating can wear or chip off, and that jewelry must be a gauge and length that suit your anatomy. American Academy of Dermatology, Caring for new piercings. The academy advises leaving the starter earrings in for at least six weeks, night included, washing hands before touching a new piercing, cleaning it once a day with a mild fragrance-free cleanser and water, and avoiding hydrogen peroxide and antibacterial soaps. Soreness, redness, swelling or a yellowish discharge can mean an infection; a raised scar can mean a keloid, and both are reasons to see a dermatologist. Read September 24, 2026.
