Why the disc matters

The disc sits against the back of the ear, so flat backs are the usual choice for the helix, the tragus and the conch. With three lobe holes, you may find the top two are happier on them too. The sets here are 20G, with a couple cut in 18G, and some come with 6mm and 8mm bars so the stud fits a thin rim and a thicker lobe from the same box.

Two ways of closing live on this page. Threadless, or push-in, tops hold on a pin bent slightly inside the bar and click out with a firm pull. Screw-in studs thread the back onto the post. Both leave the front of the ear with only the top showing.
